Hi! Thanks for stopping by.
My name is Cayla, and I’m a licensed couples and relationship therapist in Arizona, currently living in Reno, Nevada. Since graduating in 2016, I’ve been helping couples and individuals strengthen their relationships and deepen their emotional connections. I’m a certified Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist (EFCT) and an attachment-focused clinician, passionate about helping people heal from childhood attachment wounds and build secure, lasting bonds. My work as a therapist is both meaningful and deeply fulfilling—it’s a true privilege to walk alongside my clients on their healing journey. I work with individuals, couples, and also facilitate Hold Me Tight workshops and couples intensives and retreats out of Phoenix, Arizona. To work with me directly in therapy, you can reach me at Cayla@thrivetherapyphx.com.
My journey to EFCT certification has been rich and immersive. I’ve pursued extensive supervision, consultation, and advanced training in areas such as intimate partner violence, attachment injury repair, and the disclosure process for infidelity and betrayal. I’ve also served as a leader for new clinicians in EFT externships and core skills trainings, supporting the next generation of therapists as they grow in this powerful model.

In addition to my clinical work, I serve as the Outpatient Director at Thrive Therapy, where I train and lead our therapists, facilitate EFT consultation groups, and provide individual consultations for clinicians learning and integrating EFT into their work. I’ve also presented at professional mental health conferences and other practices, guiding therapists in helping their clients move toward greater emotional safety and relational security. For trainings or speaking engagements, please reach out to me at Cayla@secureattachment.solutions.
Aside from working directly with couples and individuals, I offer coaching and consulting to fellow therapists who want to deepen their confidence and effectiveness in attachment-based and Emotionally Focused Therapy (visit the therapist consultation page for more info). I believe couples therapy is both an art and a science—complex, demanding, and most effective when guided by a clear and intentional approach. I am deeply passionate about teaching and fostering clinical excellence, because there is a unique, evidence-based way to help people heal and reconnect, and guiding others in that process truly lights me up.

I’m also the co-host of the popular podcast Relationship Advice, where my friends and fellow therapists, Colter and Lauren, and I dive into the real and often messy world of relationships. Together, we explore the challenges couples and individuals face—communication breakdowns, emotional disconnection, past wounds, and everything in between. Each episode blends clinical insight with honest, relatable conversation, offering listeners practical tools and a deeper understanding of themselves and their partners. Our goal is to make attachment and relational intimacy feel accessible, human, and even a little fun along the way.
